"The RGS President's 'Address' at the Annual General Meeting (held 18 October 1937) made mention of GBP100.00 also bequeathed to the Society by Covington. Covington was elected Fellow of the RGS after June 1912, lived in Norwood (southeast London), and died there 22 November 1935. There is no indication - either on the bust, or in correspondence with the Covington family and their executors in our Archives - of its maker, date, or ealier provenance. There is only a number (5594) engraved into the 'marble' base; the base is attached to the bust by two screws." (Francis Herbert)
